Confirmed: God Is Slightly Gay

For an incredibly entertaining and amazingly enlightened read, check out Mark Morford's column in the San Francisco Gate.

I know that this will make many readers that have very specific ideas about God very uncomfortable and squirmy. And, by now, you all know that I consider this to be a very good thing.

Just wish I had written it myself.

This is great! I love Mark's column. I've met him at yoga in the city before and he's a lot of fun.

Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity is a straight forward thoroughly researched book that scientifically documents hundreds of species, not instances but specieces, that have homosexual members. Its a good book for reference but probably a little dry for your taste Emily. Although there is one picture that will make you want to pee yourself. Imagine two gigantic whales breaching the surface of the water together, bellies facing heaven, with their 6 foot long whale penises entertwined. Behold the majesty of God's creation!!!

Genius article. I loved the last paragraph the best: "And either humankind is part of nature and the wanton animal kingdom, a full participant in the messy inexplicable glories of the flesh and spirit and gender play, or we are the aberrant mistake, the ones who are lagging far behind the rest of the kingdom, sad and lost in the eyes of a very, very fluid and increasingly disappointed God." Yes, indeed.
